Job Description:

Pre-sales Domain Specialist possess deep technical expertise in a targeted technology domain and drive business for their given areas of specialization. Domain Specialists align with supporting sales professionals and pre-sales engineers throughout the Americas and are responsible for identifying and matching technology opportunities with the customer's business issues, objectives, and outcomes to drive product sales. If you are a self-starting, problem solver with a knack for sales but a passion for technology, then this is the role for you. If you are passionate about combining your technical expertise with your understanding of customer business needs to solve complex problems. You have at least 5+ years presales experience in enterprise technology, ideally in Virtualization, Security, Digital Workspaces or SaaS. You love certifications and ideally have a CCEE, CCEA, MCSE, MCITP, CCNA or other related certification. This is a remote-based position with travel to customer locations or corporate meetings, as needed. This covers all accounts across the Americas.

What you will be doing:

As a Pre-sales Domain Specialist, you will provide insight into technology trends, product developments, and technical capabilities. You will leverage your experience with REST APIs and JSON, ​to understand target system APIs and resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways to meet our customer's needs. You will use professional concepts and company objectives to will define technical offerings and solutions; develop business value propositions around Citrix products to drive sales with technical expertise, account management skills, sales strategies, and superior customer focus. You will be the face of Citrix for our customers while serving as the face of our customers to our product teams, and you will help propel Citrix by driving the company's revenue and growth. Your principal responsibilities will include:

  • Leveraging deep product knowledge to provide technical expertise to the sales team, presales engineers, customers, and internal teams such as product management
  • Participating in consultations and/or product capability assessments with prospects
  • Assessing the potential application of Citrix products to meet customer's business needs and using professional concepts in providing primarily pre-sales technical support
  • Establishing relationships with technical personnel to identify opportunities and sell Citrix products; Creating formal networks with key decision-makers and serving as spokesperson for Citrix
  • Creating and delivering technical product demonstrations, proofs of concepts, pilots, presentations, and training sessions either remotely, at customer locations, or at Citrix facilities
  • Working on issues that impact design/selling success or address future concepts, products or technologies
  • Deliver technical briefings on Citrix products and/or technology domains,
  • Identify new opportunities and grow existing Opportunities
  • Drive innovation and remain at the forefront for specialization areas, including maintaining relevant industry certifications
  • Perform demo environment maintenance and respond to technical queries
  • Participate in trade shows and deploy demos for Executive Briefing Center
  • Create and disseminate competitive surveillance and reporting
  • Solicit and scope roadmap requirements based on market input

Job requirements and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required
  • 5+ years of sales engineering experience in high tech, indirect sales, and procurement environment with a record of success in driving customer adoption of technology
  • Proficient in one or more cloud providers: Azure, AWS and Google Cloud platform
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and comfortable using a programming language to make REST calls and understand the responses​
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with web design, HTML, and material design
  • Ability to find developer documentation on target systems' APIs and demonstrate an understanding of the findings
  • Ability to apply a thorough understanding of API security concepts such as OAuth 2.0, Basic Auth, Security Tokens, as well as PII data and authentication
  • Proficiency writing applications using C#, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience developing serverless (e.g. AWS Lambda) and containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) microservices architectures
  • Understanding of source control (Git) and package management tools (npm, pip, etc)
  • Experienced with data analysis, centralized logging (Splunk, ELK, Rsyslog, etc.)

Nice to have/Bonus Points:

  • Comfortable using a programming language to make basic REST calls
  • Comfortable working with SoapUI or Postman
  • Familiarity with database concepts, such as normalized vs de-normalized data and inner vs outer joins.
