Seeking a Doctor - MD -General Practice Physician to work at Federal Correctional Facility
Estimated (35 Hours a Week) One year with Option Renewal Years
Requirements: Degree: Doctor of Medicine from an accredited school in the United States
The educationMUST be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department ofEducation.
Licensure: For positions involving patient care, candidates must have a permanent, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
NOTE: ALL applicants MUST submit proof of current, active and unrestricted license for verification.
***Must have a Current DEA License to Prescribe Prescriptions
***Copy of DEA Card will need to be submitted with upon Request if selected for Job Position

If applicable, successful candidates will undergo a credentialing process.
This process includes validation of medical examinations, education, internship and residency.
Applicant must have (1) year of graduate training or equivalent experience and training.
Experience performing physical assessment in correlation with historical findings, and recording preliminary objective findings.
Experience conducting examinations
Specific duties may involve all aspects of health care delivery, and will work in concert with both Correctional institution staff and consultant specialists in various clinical / Medical areas.
Performs all duties in accordance with current accepted medical practices and procedures.
Performs complete physical examinations.
Collects comprehensive medical and social history to include a review of all body systems.
Performs physical assessment in correlation with historical findings, records preliminary objective findings.
Examines and orders appropriate diagnostic testing and provides necessary treatment and/or medications as required.
Refers selected cases to specialists when necessary.
Refers inmates requiring hospitalization to a community hospital and to an appropriate admitting physician.
For correctional institutions with inpatient beds, contracted Physician will make rounds on inmates admitted to his/her care, as described in applicable local procedures.
Additionally, the MD may see inmate patients who are in locked status, in their designated housing area or housed in segregation units.
Administers or directs administration of both curative and preventative inoculations.
Prescribes medications, treatments, and fully utilizes health services for treatment, rehabilitative, and diagnostic modalities.
Assures proper maintenance of medical records, preparation of reports, etc., as related to the area of responsibility.
