The Division Drilling Manager establishes and guides all aspects of short and long-term strategies for our region-wide drilling program by providing direction and guidance to both the field drilling operations and the technical support team in Corpus Christi. This position will be accountable for improving rig efficiency through drilling cycle time and insuring that new technology is appropriately implemented to further enhance rig performance. This position has responsibility to control and administer expenditures for drilling activities and insures drilling activities are operating at maximum efficiency with optimum cost effectiveness. This position further insures compliance with internal policies and federal and state regulations.
A BS in Engineering (Petroleum or Mechanical only) along with 15+ years’ experience in the oil and gas industry as a drilling engineer preferably in South Texas or shelf offshore. Expertise with drilling horizontal and high angle wells, casing design, HTHP drilling, OBM, pore pressure prediction, and drilling geopressured intervals is required. Previous management experience and skills related to building effective teams, planning, negotiating, and conflict management desired. Strong computer skills required as well as a thorough understanding of directional drilling.
