In the role of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Employee Experience Leader, you will work to strengthen and implement a holistic DEI strategy and ensure an engaging workplace experience for all Mathematica associates. Reporting to the CHRO, you will partner across all levels of the organization to develop, implement and track progress against ongoing strategic and tactical initiatives. This position and our commitment to DEI is not new, yet this role has been broadened to ensure our efforts are embedded in every part of the employee experience and to have impact that extends beyond Mathematica to our industry, our clients, and our communities.
The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about improving business outcomes and enhancing the employee experience through DEI strategies, has strong communication, influencing, design thinking, and program implementation skills, along with the ability to collaborate with a wide variety of associates, departments, leadership teams, and external partners.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and promote a DEI strategy that is embedded into the employee experience and all of our talent processes
- Serve as a thought partner to the CEO, CHRO, Senior Management team, and HR Leadership team to influence investments needed to achieve excellence in DEI and the overall employee experience
- Promote and drive dialogue around and adoption of inclusive practices, establish key initiatives, and drive efforts to build a more connected, diverse and thriving workforce
- Build strong relationships with members of the leadership team to drive awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience and DEI action plans across the business
- Consult with business units and provide guidance for the design of DEI solutions that align with business unit objectives
- Ensure DEI strategy is part of how we do business by partnering with the business units to embed our strategy in proposals, client meetings, and professional conferences
- Partner with the Learning and Development leader to embed inclusion into existing learning programs and build a full DEI curriculum
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop recruiting and sourcing strategies that are aligned with the overall DEI mission
- Partner with Communications to regularly communicate internal and DEI events and progress
- Chair the Diversity Council to ensure continued momentum across all locations in supporting an inclusive and engaging office environment
- Provide leadership and guidance to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), ensuring they have clear charters, strong leadership, and annual goals which drive meaningful employee connections and positive business impact
- Identify and leverage data and analytics to promote transparency on progress, track and assess the effectiveness of DEI initiatives, and identify future priorities
- Provide guidance in policies and practices relating to equal employment, and affirmative action/contractor compliance. Oversee EEO reporting and Affirmative Action planning and facilitate company response to EEOC audits as scheduled
- Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, community partners and outside organizations to further our DEI efforts
- Provide regular updates on DEI activities and progress across the organization, including all-staff and board meetings
- Represent Mathematica at various internal and external events and speaking opportunities

- Demonstrated experience articulating a vision, translating it into executable strategy and driving cross-functional teams to deliver against the plan
Position Requirements:
Qualifications
- A four-year college degree or equivalent experience is required
- Master’s degree and/or HR Certifications preferred
- 8-10+ years in progressive leadership roles including responsibility for DEI programs, employee engagement/employee experience, talent management and/or organizational effectiveness
- Knowledge and understanding of DEI principles and EEO compliance
- Experience using design thinking methods to improve the employee experience.
