The District Manager is responsible for the financial performance of the office he/she is supporting. This position requires multiple disciplines such as Relationship Development, P&L Management, Team Building and Sales and Operations Management combined with an understanding of the HVAC industry. You will provide Sales leadership and Operations management to a fast-paced District Service office. You will manage a Service Sales Team, HVAC Service Operations and Projects Team as well as Field Service Technicians.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for the Service business within the District
  • Deliver financial goals -- Revenue and Operating Income
  • Manage the Sales Team to ensure sales objectives are met

  • Sales Strategy & Business Development
  • Recruit, Hire, Train and Manage a high performing sales team.
  • Develop business plans, strategies and objectives to ensure quotas and financial plans are met or exceeded

  • Operational Oversight
  • Responsible for the Safety of all District employees
  • Develop plans to ensure Customer commitments are met and service work is completed within appropriate timeframes
  • Ensures that on-going training is made available and provided for all employees
  • Manage company assets and inventory to ensure proper cost control and operational efficiency
  • Ensures that the local office is compliant with all federal, state and local legal regulations and statutes, including prevailing wage, legal posting requirements, and safety regulations

  • Leadership
  • Coaches and develops employees in order to maximize performance and potential
  • Manages employees performance through recognition, feedback, performance reviews and/or corrective action
  • Recruit, interview, hire and ensure that training is provided for new employees
  • Build and maintain rapport and positive working relationships with internal and external business partners, to include Manufacturer's Reps, Equipment Sales Managers, National Accounts team, Solutions team to ensure sales objectives are communicated and achieved

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related discipline
  • Prior experience
  • Managing a P&L in excess of $5M,
  • Working with financial statements,
  • Providing Leadership to a Sales and Service Operations Team.
  • 10+ years or professional work experience, preferably in the commercial HVAC service industry
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Knowledge of HVAC designs, applications and energy saving solutions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Demonstrated sales success -- energized by meeting or exceeding sales goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Sales, Sales Management and Operations Management background
  • Prior experience leading teams of Service Sales Representatives
  • Ability to be the Responsible Managing Employee for the Mechanical License in the State of California
  • Outstanding relationship management, confident, well developed interpersonal & problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated example of taking initiative with a solid work ethic
  • Exceptional communication skills, well developed listening skills, and ability to interpret business and/or client needs
