The U.S. District Sales Manager (DM) for Bucyrus Blades is responsible for the strategic management and development of the region.  DMs are fully responsible for optimizing the competitive position within the region by developing strong customer alliances and highly effective distributionchannels; responsible for all sales activities for the purpose of achieving or surpassing sales growth targets, developing new accounts, building strong customer relationships, and establishing Bucyrus Blades as a “value added” leader in the market place.  

DMs search out new business as well call on assigned accounts to sell products in the pipeline through regular on site visits; provide ongoing, profitable sales growth consistent with current forecasts by establishing and maintaining external customer relationships as assigned; and demonstrate knowledge of the application and operation of Bucyrus Blades products.

 Job Duties:

  • Development and ownership of a regional strategic plan; lead execution of the plan
  • Attain or exceed plan objectives 
  • Develop new distribution and customers
  • Train dealers, agents and customers on the value, use and maintenance of Bucyrus Blades products
  • Assist in specifying target accounts through call load mechanism; help to ascertain potential sales volume and forecast annual Bucyrus Blades volume on each account
  • Develop and recommend new product ideas or improvements of present products to meet needs in market place
  • Assist Sales Director in identifying and understanding market trends that will affect call load, distribution and planning process
  • Evaluate distribution alternatives to expand business
  • Sell by direct contact to established accounts and to new customers; primary solicitation role is face-to-face personal contact; expectation is 80% of time is field time with customers
  • Implement selling plans and campaigns
  • Obtain inquiry, report to Sales Management and Optimization Teams the requirements to obtain an order; review quotation with inside sales account representative and/or sales management if necessary prior to quoting customer; provide prompt quote to customer
  • Following quote, coordinate further follow-up selling action
  • Search for and secure new prospects or develop new potential in established accounts on a planned and regular basis
  • Responsible for negotiable situations; report facts in detail and make recommendations for course of action

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or other related field required
  • Must have 3+ years’ construction or industrial-related outside direct salesexperience
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus
  • Prior Bucyrus Blades knowledge of product, market and customer base strongly preferred
  • Must have an insurable driving record
  • Must be willing and able to travel (80%) and stay overnight
  • Must be authorized to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship
