An established consulting firm located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania with a presence in the State of Delaware, has an opportunity for a Disaster Preparedness Senior Associate/Project Manager to join its Disaster Preparedness Solutions Team. This position will be a member of a team of professionals, working to improve the health and safety of citizens through planning, training, exercising, and the mitigation of potential disaster incidents resulting from natural, man-made, and technological hazards.
The Senior Associate/Project Manager will be responsible for leading, developing, and implementing a variety of emergency management planning, training, and exercise initiatives for local, regional, and state clients in addition to defining the project scope, goals, deliverables, project tasks and resource requirements. The ability to manage the client relationship, coordinate project staff, manage the project budget, schedule project timelines, and develop and track project deliverables is essential. Additional responsibilities include identifying business development and possible “add-on” contract opportunities as they relate to a project.
The Senior Associate/Project Manager will be required to understand a variety of applicable state and federal emergency management policies and documents including, but not limited to the National Response Framework; National Incident Management System; and the National Disaster Recovery Framework as well as Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention health preparedness capabilities.
Extensive knowledge and/or experience in project management; principles of emergency plan development; Incident Command System (ICS); Hazard Vulnerability Analysis; continuity planning; and emergency management exercise planning, execution, and evaluation is required. Additional components that are crucial for this position include strong written and oral communication skills; self-initiative; organization and prioritization of work assignments, supervisory experience; and sound judgment.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with at least ten years’ work experience in managing projects in an emergency management, public safety or health environment is required.
This position is located in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania although a home-based arrangement may be considered if located in the Delaware/Maryland Eastern Shore region. Salary will be based on experience.
