First Republic Private Wealth Management is comprised of investment management, brokerage, trust, financial planning and insurance professionals. We offer customized wealth management solutions for our clients from a wide array of services including comprehensive investment management, financial planning, estate planning, trust services, endowment management and more. First Republic Investment Management (FRIM) is an SEC-Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) owned by First Republic Bank. Our team within FRIM traces its roots to Luminous Capital, a fast-growing independent RIA that was purchased by FRIM in December 2012. We work exclusively with high net worth clients. Typical clients include entrepreneurs, corporate executives, non-profits, and partners in venture capital, private equity, real estate, and law.

Our team consists of 21 individuals, including two Wealth Managers and 19 supporting team members. TheDirector will work closely with a Vice President, as well as both Wealth Managers, to support our team’s client relationships.

We are looking for a highly-motivated investment professional to join our Palo Alto-based team as a Director.The Director will work closely with the existing team to manage important elements of the client relationship.

Our team operates as a meritocracy and incentivizes leadership, initiative, and “out-of-the-box” thinking. Overtime, you should expect to cover more complex client relationships and take more of a leading role with clients, acting less as the supporting team member and more as the primary investment adviser.

What you’ll do as a Director, Wealth Management Client Services:

  • Support Wealth Managers by providing service and support functions such as portfolio analysis, trade execution, account maintenance, and client/prospect meeting preparation
  • Provide investment advice to clients and actively participate in client meetings and calls with the Wealth Managers and Vice Presidents (in some cases one-on-one with the client)
  • Interact with clients, supporting all aspects of their servicing needs related to the management of their relationship, researching client inquiries and managing follow up communication and materials
  • Construct client performance and asset allocation reports along with recommended portfolio changes
  • Review various non-publicly traded alternative investments (real estate, credit and other types of funds) and communicate these strategies to clients as part of their asset allocation
  • Provide exceptional service and devise customized financial strategies for existing and prospective clients

What skills you will use:

  • 5-8 years of work experience in Wealth Management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field
  • Series 7 and 66 (or 65/63)
  • CFA or CFP designation, preferred
  • Experience in the financial markets and non-publicly traded investments; ability to communicate those investments to clients
  • Familiarity with the operational aspect of Wealth Management including new account openings, disbursements, and trades.
  • Exceptional prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to successfully delegate to team members or step in when needed
  • Ability to multitask and work on several different projects at the same time
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, anticipate issues, and have a proven track record of strong relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment
