Job Summary

This position is responsible for directing tax functions for the company, as outlined below.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • (30%) Provision
    • Direct preparation, management, review and consolidation of income tax provisions, including coordination with all taxreporting teams.
    • Establish and maintain processes designed to identify, assess, and calculate uncertain tax position (FIN48) calculations
    • Direct calculation of the consolidated effective tax rate, suggest and draft SEC reporting disclosures, and perform or supervise detailed review of supporting calculations and work papers
    • Manage relationship with financial statement taxauditors
    • Monitor and implement regulatory changes to US GAAP income taxreporting
    • Advise US and regional tax team members
    • Organize and perform training sessions to ensure worldwide compliance
    • Oversee taxfinancialreporting controls, ensuring performance and documentation of internal controls.
    • Generate and lead implementation of ideas for process improvements and efficiencies
    • Lead integration of tax provision processes for all mergers and acquisitions
  • (25%) Compliance
    • Ensure development and execution of annual tax compliance project plan
    • Direct preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return
    • Direct completion of international information returns
    • Direct completion and review of state income tax returns with state tax team
    • Perform reviews of proforma federal income tax returns, consolidated income tax return, and tax impacts of foreign information returns
    • Direct resolution of federal tax notices; manage information responses to federal taxaudits, including drafting and initial review of all document requests
    • Support completion of federal and state taxaudits
    • Generate and lead process improvements and efficiencies
    • Lead integration of tax compliance processes for all domestic mergers and acquisitions
  • (20%) Advisory Services
    • Review tax consequences and advise on tax-efficient structuring of planned transactions.
    • Advise human resources team on tax implications of various forms of compensation
    • Advise cross-functional project teams on tax implications of legal entity, location, workforce, and other business options and changes
    • Lead completion of cross-functional tax projects
    • Direct financial and tax modeling of impact of planned transactions
  • (15%) Planning and Research
    • Direct the review and research of the federal and state income tax treatment of Company transactions
    • Evaluate and recommend structuring options for domestic mergers and acquisitions, and review and provide recommendations on deal structuring and transaction agreement drafting
    • Manage domestic tax due diligence processes
    • Generate and implement ideas to generate cash tax savings and effective income tax rate benefits
  • (10%) Tax Department Leadership
    • Provide guidance and training to tax department staff, ensuring proper delegation of responsibilities to ensure tax staff progress effectively and develop necessary skills
    • Work with tax staff to develop career plans and monitor career progression

Education and Experience Profile

  • BA in Accountingrequired. Masters of Accounting or MBA, concentration in Tax, preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Proficiency in tax research (CCH, BNA) and tax preparation (CorpTax preferred) tools
  • Working knowledge of SAP and/or other ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of BFC and/or other financial consolidation tools
