The Director, Valley Health Surgery Center is responsible for the successful management and operation of Valley Health Surgery Center with an emphasis on assuring safety, quality, service, growth, and attainment of financial objectives prescribed by the Board of Directors.
Collaborates with Medical Director to develop and evaluate: - proper clinical procedures that ensure patient safety, comfort, and quality - appropriate admission and discharge procedures and assures that pre-admission criteria are appropriately met - ongoing patient care safety, quality and education and assures resolution with appropriate team members. Manages and enforces safety policies and procedures. Responds to emergency situations with competence and composure. Assists with the development of patient education material. Prepares and administers annual capital and operating budget as directed by Board. Plans, evaluates, recommends and implements new initiatives when appropriate. Collaborates with Business Manager and VHS resources. Researches and prepares cost reduction proposals and implements them as applicable. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure personnel policy development and communication to staff to achieve consistency in labor and employee relations. Selects and hires employees according to established guidelines. Monitors, coaches, develops and evaluates performance of staff on an ongoing and regular/consistent basis, in accordance with applicable performance standards. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, employees, managers, and physicians. Assures compliance with all Surgery Center policies and procedures and governmental regulations pertaining, but not limited to: - controlled substances and legend drugs, including sample medications - infection control - patient confidentiality - CPR, ACLS, safety and risk management in collaboration with Clinic Safety Coordinator and HR - quality improvement and quality assurance - emergency codes and evacuation - professional licensure - DOH, Medicare, TJC and all other voluntary and regulatory requirements Supports and promotes a positive image of Valley Health Surgery Center when dealing with patients, members of the community and others both inside and outside the organization. Perform other duties as requested.
What You Will Bring:
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or related field required
Master's Degree preferred
Experience
Five years of management experience in an operating room setting required
Experience obtaining and maintaining Medicare certification through AAAHC or TJC required
