The Smartwool Operations Director is a key part of Smartwool Leadership Team and is ultimately responsible for the end to end supply chain strategies and overall execution. This role has direct oversight for numerous functional areas including demand & supply planning, inventory management, S&OP, direct sourcing, quality, and sustainability. This role has indirect oversight, but leadership accountability, for functional areas including customer service, logistics, distribution, compliance, sourcing, and customs. The person in this role is responsible for talent selection and ongoing growth and development of The Supply Chain Operations Team. This role also sets the vision of success for the supply chain, creates the framework for achieving this vision, and establishes control related standards and procedures to track progress and execution. Ultimate objectives include working with the leadership team to achieve financial targets (such as sales, margin, profit), delivering on inventory targets, and ultimately servicing customers (internal & external) and consumers appropriately. This role will help create and champion key projects to move supply chain operations forward.
Lead initiatives to drive improvements in the following core business processes Demand/ Supply Planning, Sourcing and Procurement, including Sourcing Governance and Sourcing Strategy, Quality and Sustainability Management Partners with the SWL Leadership Team to develop the strategic initiatives then manage the actions of the initiatives through the S&OP process Ensures brand drives towards key VF Supply Chain Strategies, such as improving the speed of bringing products to market Maintain a relevant and continuously improving source base (raw materials and finished goods) to meet business requirements as measured by quality, service, and cost Guide and lead the development and execution of inventory and production plans to support business growth while balancing service and operating working capital requirements Guide and lead the SWL Supply Chain Multi-Horizon Plan (MHP) and synchronize the MHP with the SWL enterprise and across the leadership and management teams Work closely with Vendors and Sourcing partners to ensure delivery compliance including a root cause analysis on all late shipments Works cross-functionally to ensure on-time customer deliveries. Owns the process from order receipt to PO placement to final delivery to customers Provides leadership for all systems development relating to forecasting, inventory management, order management, planning, production, and shipping Responsible for the evaluation and development of the team
