The Procurement Center of Excellence group within the Global Procurement organization is seeking a Supplier Development & Performance Management Director to develop and execute Continuous Improvement and Supplier Development strategies within the Sensata Supply Chain. Individual will work with various members of the Procurement and Vendor leadership team to institutionalize Continuous Improvement practices within supply chain, lead activities responsible for improving supplier performance (Quality and Delivery) and Compliance through effective collaboration between Suppliers, Sites, Quality, and Sourcing teams. This individual will focus on supplier operations performance striving to develop and execute initiatives to achieve supply chain efficiencies by reduce cycle time, improving lead time, waste elimination, unit cost targets, and improve customer satisfaction. Identifying and executing various projects to improve process efficiencies and reduce cost, working cross-functionally to successfully implement LEAN methodologies within the Supply Chain and support Global Operations (GO) initiatives as required. Build tools, methods and processes to evaluate the drivers that impact the performance of the supplier, through problem resolution, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques. Standardize and drive the approach to supplier risk management by designing a quantitative assessment process and driving actions to mitigate supply chain risks. This individual will represent Procurement within the Global Operations Lean team and execute appropriately on global programs. Interaction with Engineering, Planning, Operations and peers within the Sourcing and Procurement community will be paramount. Working across time zones and physical locations will enable the candidate to gain vast experience in a global network and will challenge the individual to maintain exceptional organizational and prioritization skills

Job Responsibilities:


  • Develops and executes an environment of Continuous Improvement within the supply chain
  • Administration and Governance of global Supplier Performance Management program
  • Administration and Governance of global Supply Chain Risk Management program
  • Develops performance metrics and drives initiatives to ensure goals are met on schedule
  • Internal customer support and issues resolution from a Procurement perspective
  • Leads cross-functional teams of high priority, complex programs to meet strategic targets
  • Regularly prepares proposals and presents ideas in formal meetings
  • Management and advocacy of procurement processes
  • Utilization of strategic procurement policies, procedures, guidelines and tools

Job Requirements:


  • 15+ years of operations experience with 10 years demonstrated experience with increasing responsibility in developing and implementing successful continuous improvement programs required.
  • 3-5 years of equivalent leadership experience
  • Experience in a regulated industry (i.e. manufacturing, automotive) developing and implementing process improvements.
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Science or related field required; MBA preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma Black Belt certification required
  • Experience leading an organization in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Manage and deploy initiatives by influence
