PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for the process of strategic integration, from identifying potential opportunities through implementation. Develop relationships with physicians within our community who would consider the value proposition of joining Christiana Care, either as employees or through another model. Identify needs of these community physicians and create mutually beneficial proposals. Represent Christiana Care in negotiations.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify potential physicians/practices within the community that might be benefit from an integration with Christiana Care in some capacity, including, but not limited to employment
  • Develop relationships with community physicians and ascertain their needs
  • Seek out new integration opportunities
  • Meet with physicians and practice administrative leadership to ascertain whether or not a potential integration exists
  • Define, articulate, and market the value proposition of integration or alternative models
  • Develop a standard menu for integration models with a mix of employment and other options
  • Have responsibility for maintaining and building “playbook” of integration process
  • Collaborate with Finance team to analyze financials and determine whether or not the integration supports Christiana Care’s goals
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain communication and follow up, keeping senior leadership apprised of progress
  • Negotiate terms of relationships with community physicians/practices
  • Oversee the integration process. Identify potential roadblocks to implementation and consult with colleagues to overcome
  • Finalize terms, including financial and operational commitments
  • Stay up to date on the external environment and competitive landscape– physicians, practices, and other healthcare organizations in the community
  • Represent Christiana Care at meetings with community physicians
  • Manage project manager
  • Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to Chair, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Frequent contact with Christiana Care executives, physician leaders and physicians

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred
  • Experience working with physicians and healthcare leaders
  • Experience with process implementation
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing strategic partnerships
  • Minimum 3 years project management
