Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dir, Security.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for the overall management of the Security Department and parking services. Develops, implements, and continuously monitors the effectiveness of security policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

• Oversees the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of institutional Security Programs. Develops related policies and procedures. Monitors and evaluates security risks and control procedures associated with patients, staff and visitors. Directs organization-wide collection of information on opportunities for improvement and works toward implementation of corrective measures.
• Ensures the flow of information to and from the department to optimize operations. Sets goals and objectives in accordance with organizational goals. Utilizes technology to improve services, processes and productivity. Provides statistics on progress of initiatives.
• Manages financial expenditures by closely monitoring operating expenses to remain within budgetary guidelines. Works with vendors to seek cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality services.
• Responsible for hiring, staffing, and scheduling personnel to maintain the effective operation of the department. Ensures that staff members hold valid and current required credentials and are appropriately trained and evaluated.
• Manages, plans, organizes, and directs the hospital parking program. Monitors and oversees the daily operations of the facility parking program and parking assignments to maximize parking capacity at the main campus of the institution.
• Manages the institutional wide card access program.
• Manages and participates in the institution s Code M Manpower Security Response team. Ensures that all members of the team are adequately and appropriately trained in compliance with institutional policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify you must have a High School or GED. Current and valid NYS Security Guard License OR current and valid NYS Private Investigator s License. Current and valid NYS Driver’s License. Current and valid CPR certification. Current and valid Crisis Prevention/Intervention (CPI) certification within 6 months of Hire. Valid First-Aid training certificate or documented equivalent training evidence. 9-11 years Security and/or law enforcement operations. 3 – 5 years Supervisory or Management. 3 – 5 years Security operations in a Hospital or Healthcare related facility. Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Health (DOH), and National Fire Protection Administration (NFPA) related regulations. Demonstrated knowledge of fire apparatus and equipment. Excellent communication (both oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Access. Working knowledge of a Photo ID machine.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree In a related field. Knowledge of Environment of Care (EOC) standards. Strong public speaking skills.
