Client Facing Responsibilities:

    • Play a primary role in the crafting and implementation of search engine optimization strategies for large retail and lead gen clients
    • Review monthly report data on traffic & rankings, analyze the results, document observations, and make recommendations for adjustments in strategy
    • Answer client questions as needed. Participate in and/or lead client conference calls. Take notes, extract action items from the conversation, and translate those action items into tasks for execution
    • Learn the decision making, thought process, and preferences of the business owner in order to craft SEO strategies that align with his/her beliefs
    • Conduct periodic keyword research, technical and content audits and competitor analysis to discover new SEO opportunities
    • Optimize web pages for copy, metadata, internal and external links and landing pages
    • Maintain an ongoing task list with priorities and follow up status, consistently and persistently follow up on outstanding items

Department Responsibilities:

    • Manage 3-4 SEO personnel by leading bi-weekly 1:1 sessions, reviewing progress of project delivery, providing strategic insights across projects and reviewing/developing managed personnel’s skills on a career ladder
    • Lead the training of SEO Analysts and SEO Strategists across the department
    • Contribute to the improvement of SOPs by suggesting better, more efficient ways to execute business operations and provide higher quality output to clients
    • Assume a cross functional role, working with social media, content and creative web dev teams to conceive of and execute initiatives 

Qualifications:

    • Minimum 6 years of experience managing Search Engine Optimization campaigns and team management
    • A deep understanding of website architecture and search engine ranking factors
    • Advanced knowledge of web development, HTML, site architecture and SEO industry best practices
    • Solid analytical and reporting skills using Google Search Console, Google Analytics, MOZ, ScreamingFrog, etc.
    • Technical skills including schema markup, HTML, CSS, JS and a strong developer/I.T. understanding
    • Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word
