What you will get to do:

The Director of Sales and Market Development has overall responsibility for the development and successful execution of Medica’s growth objectives for all products offered within a regional market. This position will be responsible for growing and developing the region’s revenues by selling new business, up/cross selling existing customers, and ensuring high levels of customer/broker service and high retention/renewal rates. This position also serves as a lead representative of Medica to the market responsible for enhancing Medica’s brand presence. The position is accountable for building and maintaining strategic relationships with providers, community leaders, brokers, and other businesses/business partners by demonstrating the Medica brand to stakeholders in order to achieve corporate goals and successfully expand Medica’s footprint in new geographies and/or product lines. The Director of Sales and Market Development will provide leadership in the collection and use of competitive/market intelligence. The position will also provide leadership and management of a team of sales staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experiencerequired
  • 10+ years of experience within the healthcare or health insurance industry required
  • Experience in Medicare, Commercial and/or Individual and Family Business marketing/sales distributionexperiencepreferred
  • Leadership experiencerequired, sales management preferred

Specific types of experience and skills required:

  • A working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual Healthcare products.
  • Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Individual and Family enrollment requirements.
  • Distribution relationship development and management experience.
  • A successful candidate will have practical knowledge and experience with direct to consumer distribution organizations.
  • Personal savvy in cross functional corporate engagement and collaborative development.
