Provide leadership within the Risk Management Oversight Center of Excellence to enable and lead Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation's (NPC's) healthcare compliance risk assessment and management capabilities to help uphold and strengthen NPC reputation as a trusted provider of healthcare solutions for patients and customers by proactively identifying, evaluating and managing healthcare compliance risks.
Partner with business and E&C colleagues to administer and evolve NPC's Healthcare Compliance Risk Assessment Process as part of the broader risk management strategy.
Oversee the strategic planning for effective risk management-related business and Ethics & Compliance processes and be accountable for all key risk-management deliverables
Drive efficient, informed decision-making deeper in the organization through use of a consistent methodology to identify, evaluate and manage compliance risks and support innovation and agility by enabling proactive evaluation of risks and implementation of appropriate controls to execute activities compliantly
Lead training/support/coordination of Healthcare Compliance Risk Management business and E&C leads
Lead efforts across E&C to analyze and incorporate applicable risk management inputs (e.g., investigations, auditing and monitoring results; data analytics)
Lead US effort to coordinate Enterprise Risk Management
Lead E&C response to risk management outcomes (e.g., incorporation into training and policy updates; future auditing & monitoring activities)
Oversee risk management analytics strategy and IT projects, as required, for necessary upgrades
Liaise with the larger organization regarding risk management
Manage / facilitate IRC Meetings
Liaise with SpeakUp Office, as appropriate
Support implementation of corrective action plans, process and procedures for communicating and reporting misconduct and other violations of NPC policies
Support and follow-up on enforcement efforts of corrective / disciplinary action
Work on assigned projects, as needed
Ability to think strategically and support innovation and agility around proactive risks identification and mitigation
Ability to present complex information in an understandable and compelling manner
Strong analytical and problem solving skills with emphasis on utilizing business processes and technology to solve business problems. Demonstrated ability to work at both conceptual and detailed levels. Creative thinker with ability to trans-late strategies into actions
Ability to develop investigation strategies and work closely with NPC's employment law attorneys to seek guidance, as necessary.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to maintain professional demeanor even when confronted with stressful and/or potentially adversarial situations
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and work collaboratively with multiple cross functional teams (e.g., IT, HR, Compliance, Security, Legal, Field associates)
Ability to effectively and discreetly maintain and manage confidential information
Must be capable of simultaneously handling multiple investigations and various related tasks; meet investigative and project deadlines
Demonstrated project management experience and problem-solving as a member of a cross-functional team
Ability to work in a matrix organization and influence others
Adept at report writing
Excellent interpersonal, consulting, and relationship management skills. Must be able to clearly document and communicate complex information; communicate business requirements and methodologies
Successfully manage tight deadlines
(Political Science, Information Management, Healthcare Information, Computer Science, Statistics, or related fields)
10+ years total business experience.
5 + years' experience with risk management ; compliance experience preferred
A working understanding of codes, laws and regulations which impact industry, i.e., PhRMA Code, OIG Guidance, Corporate Integrity Agreements
Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
