As the Health System is implementing new clinical and revenue cycle system across all of its hospitals and employed physician practices, adaptation and transformation of the Health System Revenue Cycle is required. Designed to be an internal consulting function in the Revenue Cycle of the Health System. An individual in this position must have a thorough understanding of the entire continuum of revenue cycle to include Patient Access, Central Scheduling, Billing, Account Follow-up, Self Pay, Customer Service, HIM, and Care Management. This position will be responsible for project management within the Revenue Cycle and specifically be responsible for managing ad hoc project teams, as assigned by the VP of Revenue Cycle in coordination with other Revenue Cycle leaders and WellStar leaders. The individual in this position must be able to work independently on targeted initiatives and also be able to develop project plans, lead staff and be a driver of change. This position will project lead several revenue cycle projects across the spectrum of the revenue cycle, interface with the finance, information technology, operations, and clinical functions of the System, Hospitals, WellStar Medical Group, and other WellStar entities. The individual in this position will collaborate with other centralized process improvement strategies (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma, etc…)
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor's and Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related field required.
Required Minimum Certifications: - Lean Certification, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (within 18 months)
Required Minimum Experience: Four to eight years of industry and/or consulting experience in provider relations, revenue cycle process improvement, implementation/redesign, data mining and detailed analytics.
Required Minimum Skills: - Superior verbal and written communication skills, project management, organization, prioritization, and follow-up skills. - Strong financial and business acumen along with critical thinking skills - Exhibited skills in critical thinking, problem identification and resolution and process improvement. - Must be a team player; demonstrate attention to detail; well-developed problem solving skills; and able to work independently. - Strong technical and analytical skills, particularly related to analyzing, summarizing and interpreting large data files. - Experience with EPIC implementations (HB, PB, Cadence, ADT) – Is strongly preferred.
