SEEKING: Director, R&D, Food company

A well-established, $500M Food manufacturing company seeks a dynamic, innovative individual to lead their Director of Research & Development group. This Director will "own" the R&D function, acting as a subject matter expert with internal and external stakeholders and customers and as a Team Coach for the department associates (5-10 people in various roles).

RESPONSIBILITES

** Innovation: this Director works with Sales and current and prospective customers to develop Food ingredient products that meet their needs at the lowest possible costs.

** Teaching, Coaching, and Training: as the owner of the R&D function, this Director will maintain an efficient operation, developing and maintaining product specifications and guidelines, ensuring a culture of continuous improvement, seeking lower costs, and compliance with USDA and FDA regulations.

** Leadership: this Director will interact with multiple Company functions in initiatives critical to the company's future.

REQUIREMENTS

The Company seeks an R&D professional who will contribute immediately, with

** An advanced degree in Food Science or similar, and

** At least several years of leadership experience in R&D in the Food industry, with

** Product experience to include "protein" products, such as: flavors, dairy, meat, eggs, cheese, etc.

The Company also seeks an individual with the communications and business skills necessary to assume a key role in a smaller organization, functioning independently and making key decisions in response to new opportunities and challenges. This is a "big-fish-small-pond" role.

Salary

$150K - $188K
