Director, Real Assets & Private Equity Finance at Apollo Management in Purchase, NY

Position Overview

The candidate will report to the Head of Performance and Analytics for the Private Equity and Real Assets segments at Apollo. He / She will lead the Portfolio company performance program, support all activities critical to portfolio company finance initiatives, portfolio performance and strategic initiatives with Technology team. The candidate will have an integral role in guiding and supporting our ESG/ legal / operations / finance / valuations / Investor Relations teams, investment activities and LP reporting processes. He / She will be responsible for leading the Apollo iLEVEL platform.

Primary Responsibilities

Administer the iLEVEL platform, driving usage and the adoption of platform across the organization

Maintain iLEVEL's account hierarchy to ensure consistency across Portfolio Companies and ability to leverage the data for all use cases, including portfolio monitoring, valuations and LP reporting.

Lead and manage Portfolio company performance program and related strategic initiatives

Work with deal teams & sr. management to develop Dashboard metrics. Ensure consistent metrics are captured and incorporate meaningful company-specific metrics that drive profitability and leading indicator views of performance and trends.

Develop and enhance firm-wide iLEVEL templates to collect data and analyze portfolio and asset-level results.

Build and continue to advance iLEVEL portal pages to view results and, identify opportunities to efficiently organize and present key data and trends;

Support asset management teams and sr. management during the Portfolio Review process.

Analyze quarterly portfolio company reporting packages and ensure that all financial information is received on a timely basis and entered into iLEVEL accurately.

Participate in PE and RA Outcomes Analysis process to produce investment level and fund level performance projections including base case, upside and downside cases;

Monitor, track and analyze performance at the investment, portfolio and fund level. Includes track record creation, with a goal of maximizing investment performance at the portfolio and fund levels, while working closely with senior members of the US real estate business;

Prepare ongoing and ad hoc investor communication materials, including investor questionnaires, fund performance queries, presentations and reports, while collaborating with Apollo’s Marketing and Deal teams;

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate institution

7 - 10 years of experience in financial services / investment management/accounting with an understanding of Private Equity / Real Estate funds

Exceptional analytical, Excel (pivot tables, etc.), financial modeling, valuation, and communication skills

Knowledge of performance measurements (e.g. IRR, TWR, ROE)

Highly organized, keen attention to detail, and able to effectively manage multiple processes simultaneously

Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with various internal and external constituents

Embraces a culture centered on teamwork and is flexible with job responsibilities

Strong judgment needed to: i) foresee potential risks and roadblocks to task completion; and, ii) identify effective solutions

Excels in a rigorous and fast-paced work environment

Knowledge of iLEVEL is a must
