Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for all aspects of Directing the Central Community Security policy and procedure. Active member of the Mercy Security Council. Responsible for directing and managing Security in the Springfield Hospital Security Department. Provides an environment that is reasonably safe for hospital co-workers, patients and visitors. Directs a security program that is established and maintained that provides for the protection of personal and institutional property and the premises in general. Responsible for workplace violence initiatives and processes. Produces various reports and spreadsheets as necessary. Determines and manages operational and capital budgets for the Security department. Assists with hospital disaster preparedness planning.



Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Business or Criminal Justice, a related. Masters preferred.
  • Three to Five years minimum experience in a health care Safety & Security management position.
  • CHPA / IAHSS Senior Membership attained within 2years of hire
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Masters in Security Management, Business or Criminal Justice preferred
