The Signal Integrity Products group provides innovative semiconductor solutions for the world's most advanced data communication and video broadcast and products. Proven optical, analog and mixed-signal products enable video and data communications networks to send and receive information without compromising the signal integrity.
The Director, Product Marketing is a key role in the growth and evolution of the Signal Integrity Product Group and will have responsibility for the product roadmap and strategy for all products in our Datacom vertical. The successful candidate for this role will understand the dynamics of the market, including determining customer requirements for existing and future designs, use cases, technical requirements, the competitive environment and market shares. This is a key contributor role that will report to the Vice President, Marketing.
Key responsibilities for this role includes define new product roadmaps to best fit the evolving needs, work closely with our customers, field sales and technical support teams to provide business and technical assistance in order to grow Semtech’s share of Datacenter, Wireless Infrastructure and Access IC markets. A strong background in analog, mixed signal optical ICs including CDRs, TIAs, and laser and modulator drivers, along with the ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary and geographically dispersed marketing, sales, and engineering teams, is essential for success in this position.
Key result areas include but are not limited to:
Continuing to grow Semtech’s product portfolio and market share through execution of design wins with existing products and a robust product roadmap
Assist the field sales staff with tier-1 customer engagements with the goal of design wins, successful integration, qualification and deployment
Ensure that the field team is equipped with the appropriate knowledge, skill, and sales tools to support customers in local geography areas.
Key Activities for the position include but are not limited to:
Manage a team of Product Line Managers and Product Definition experts
Establish product roadmap and key product requirements to increase market share and adoption of Semtech products
Set and maintain price targets for all Datacom products, including profitability and margin targets
Drive the ‘whole product’ and go-to-market plans
Specification of demo systems, demo best practices, training field and engineering staff
Proactively identify areas of improvement for company products and processes, including but not limited to new markets and new technologies
Qualification and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or equivalent with preference given to candidates with advanced degrees
5 or more years of relevant experience working with analog/mixed signal products for the data communications markets (CDRs, PMD, PON etc.)
8 or more years of relevant experience in customer-facing roles
Minimum of 5 years of direct people leadership experience; preference for candidates who have experience managing remote teams
Strong presentation skills with the ability to interact at all levels in the organization
Strong decision making and judgment skill in order to drive complex Marketing requirements and projects to success
Demonstrated strong communication and influencing skills, along with ability to work with diverse communities and geographic locations is essential
Flexibility to travel globally ~30%
