The Director of Procurement is responsible for managing the Company’s procurement functions to achieve on-time, cost effective, high quality service and materials for manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D, and other internal customers. This position will identify the best source of supply, goods and services, and will be responsible for all aspects of the relationship with suppliers and service providers, including quality, value and ability to respond quickly to changing requirements. The Director of Procurement plans, supervises, and coordinates all purchasing activities for the Company.

* Develop, communicate and implement purchasing strategies, policies and processes to increase effectiveness and efficiency across the organization using best practice
* Provide responsive purchasing support to the organization
* Negotiate contracts that set out prices, quality standards, cost reduction targets, delivery timescales, and commercial terms and conditions. Monitor performance against contractual standards and works with the supplier and service providers to achieve continuous improvements in costs and performance
* Evaluate lease financing strategies and make recommendations in accordance with capital needs.  Negotiate and oversee leasing arrangements
* Champion leverage of SAP and Point Purchasing functionality to achieve efficiency and systemizing the purchasing operations
* Ensure review and control of purchasing parameters in the system to ensure optimal order placement
* Deploy proactive measures and monitor organization performance to ensure timely and accurate placement of purchase quotations and purchase orders, tracking and delivery of incoming materials, and receipt, and the tracking and handling of supplier receipts and invoices
* Work with supplier organizations to improve their performance
* Establish Key Performance indicators related to purchasing and inventory replenishment, including benchmarking 
* Establish an effective purchasing performance monitoring process
* Supervise the team to ensure purchasing activities are compliant with company policies. Ensure strong transaction discipline, including policy development
* Develop and train employees by providing employee feedback, conducting employee performance reviews, and maintaining appropriate career development plans for subordinates to assume greater responsibilities and drive group productivity
* Implement and maintain the contribution of purchasing to value creation metrics
* Manage the Company’s travel program, including the development and maintenance of associated policies
* Oversee and manage shipping and receiving
* Lead procurement related projects

* Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or economics is essential, or related field
* Certification as a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar
* Previous experience in a public company with at least 10 years of experience in Purchasing or Materials Management
* Practical and advanced understanding of purchasing best practices
* Self-starter with the ability to think and act strategically, and be highly motivated
* Strong analytical and cognitive skills, and business/financial acumen
* Leadership skills required including project management, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to decisions
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Results oriented with demonstrated ability to achieve results yet be hands-on
* Strong communication skills, oral and written
* Possess solid computer skills (proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and  hands on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), including implementations preferred
* Ability to draft policy and processes.
