A&M’s Pre-Acquisition Operations professionals assist our clients in analyzing functional and departmental processes, including manufacturing operations, supply chain and distribution channels, procurement and supply chain, SG&A operations and sales force effectiveness. From our thorough fact-based analysis, we assess state of operations, identify key risks to investment and quantify potential EBITDA improvement plans for the buyer.

The PEPI Pre-Acquisition Operations group is a growing business targeting high growth in the next two to four years. We are seeking individuals that can lead and deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for private equity clients and their portfolio companies. Directors frequently lead the following types of engagements:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of a target’s business operations and its risks, including the cost base and CapEx requirements
  • Identify performance gaps and potential improvement opportunities (e.g., cost reduction and/or revenue enhancement)
  • Assess potential carve-out issues and associated costs
  • Identify and/or potential synergies
  • Provide insights on key deal issues—including quantifying key opportunities and risks
  • Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
  • Continue to develop our people through coaching; providing input and guidance into the staffing process; actively participating in staff recruitment and retention activities; and providing leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices.


  • 8 plus years of combined professional industry and consulting experience, with a minimum of 5 years specializing in operational roles as related to business transformation, merger integration and change management
  • Extensive experience working for or with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related transaction / merger integration experience
  • Deep functional expertise in one of more of the following areas:
  • Private Equity Advisory
  • Business Plan Review
  • Operational and Financial Planning
  • SG&A Review
  • Supply Chain Operations Diligence
  • Procurement and Supply Review
  • Manufacturing and Operations Evaluation
  • Sales & Marketing Effectiveness Assessment
  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Merger and Acquisition Planning
  • Divestiture (Carve-Out) Planning
  • Human Resources Assessment
  • Demonstrated track record working with C-suite executives as well as private equity deal and operating partners
  • Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis
  • Specific experience designing and leading the execution of internally-focused and externally-focused change/communications strategy.
  • Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills, including business process mapping and quantitative analysis
  • Previous strategy and change management experience. Advisory experience from a top-tier strategy firm, leading specialist, niche advisory firm, or Big-4 consultancy
  • MBA a plus
