The Director will be given significant ownership over strategy for Jet’s Supply Chain operations, with a focus on perishable goods. You'll establish day to day best practices for inventory management and continue building strong relationships with our supplier community.  The Director will work closely with many other people in the organization, especially the Fulfillment Center and Category management teams.

What you’ll be working on

  • Develop overall cross category, perishable supply chain strategy (service levels, inventory, transportation, analytics, etc.)
  • Lead a team of Perishable Supply Chain Managers / Analysts while partnering with Category management team to meet business and operational targets
  • Ensure execution of daily processes with attention to detail through management of a team of associates – purchase inventory, troubleshoot problem items, and track orders to 100% accuracy
  • Create our next generation Perishable supply chain systems, working with our engineers to prioritize the most impactful improvements
  • Ensure immediate, proactive, whatever-it-takes support to our fulfillment centers
  • Negotiate strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with our Perishable vendors
  • Lead our team through your daily example, contributing to our values, our norms, and our high standard of performance

  • Ability to manipulate large quantities of data to drive business decisions is a must – expert in Microsoft Excel required and expert in Microsoft SQL a big plus
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills

Qualifications

  • MBA or relevant Masters Degree (Operations, Supply Chain) preferred from a rigorous graduate program with demonstrated high academic achievement
  • 10+ years of professional experience or relevant internships in a highly analytical, data intensive and/or strategic role, preferably with significant experience in Supply Chain and/or online retail
  • 5+ years of direct experience in perishable procurement/supply chain operations
