As we continue to scale our organization, expand our product portfolio and accelerate our leadership position in cyber security we will continue to leverage an acquisition strategy to add product capabilities, grow our market footprint, and fuel our teams with exceptional talent.
As a Director, People M&A, you will be responsible for the people strategy and operations of all mergers and acquisitions, from due diligence through integration ensuring the success of each deal and long term retention of talent. You will be the subject matter expert to shape how we approach all people, organization, and culture aspects of each deal, working across the people team, our Corporate Development team and across the business to drive successful people strategies and outcomes.
With several successful acquisitions over the past couple of years, we’ve built a strong foundation – but we’re looking for you to take us to the next level of excellence, creating the strategy and evolving our People M&A practices to be as innovative and industry leading as our products.
Build a strong People M&A practice with the ability to work seamlessly across the people team and in coordination with cross functional teams to deliver deal success and an exceptional employee experience.
Design and deliver the People strategy and operational execution for all mergers & acquisitions. Roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches with our PMO lead for M&A to ensure every detail is managed across a fast paced deal timeline and high bar for the employee experience.
Advise and consult to the people team leaders across the function (recruitment, compensation, benefits, systems, operations, programs/processes, communications and on-boarding/engagement) to advance their expertise in people M&A practices and guide people strategies in each of these areas.
Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across the people team and organization to influence with credibility and drive ‘head and heart’ followship for our strategies and operational plans.
Work and navigate a demanding, exciting and unpredictable environment which may include short timeframes and unexpected business travel
Execute best in class change management strategies and effective communications, including executive updates on progress, outcomes, and risks to integration and deal value drivers
Lead people strategy and practices that cultivate innovation and collaboration and protect our unique culture to ensure Palo Alto Networks continues to be one of the best places to work for our current team and every new team member joining us.
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, Master’s Degree or MBA preferred
10 years + of work experience leading complex global mergers and acquisitions in the People practice, with expertise across a variety of deal structures, sizes, and strategies
Depth of understanding across talent practices from org design, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, learning & development, and talent acquisition.
Strong executive presence and ability to influence in the C-suite and across the board, with high EQ to understand and navigate potentially sensitive situations.
Ability to manage difficult and complex negotiations with external executives and employees including international audiences, with global sensibilities and cultural awareness.
Thrives in fast-paced environments and rises to the challenge of aggressive timelines.
Demonstrated Project/Program Management experience managing complex projects and programs as well as excellent written, presentation and verbal communications.
Experience with Google Docs, Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Jira and/or similar project management tools
