Under general direction from the VP of Human Resources, the Payroll Director oversees all payroll administration including payroll tax for all of the LenderLive entities. The Payroll Director is responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with internal and external auditors and state and federal agencies. The majority of the Director’s time is spent planning, coordinating and directing the functions of the payroll department. This role oversees the payroll team and will be entrusted with hiring duties.

Essential Functions
Oversee the payroll team as they perform administrative duties related to the payroll system including running the payroll cycle and ensuring proper update of changes.

Problem solve and automate payroll processes.

Review and revise policies and procedures where applicable.

Responsible for the maintenance of multi-company, multi-state payroll, including the setup of new states as needed. Close partnership with legal department regarding state setup to ensure compliance.

Ensure payroll tax payments are in compliance with applicable federal, state and local tax laws.

Direct the payroll department’s response to employee payroll requests to include
direct deposit, W2’s, unemployment claims, and VOEs.

Oversee all special payroll processing; authorize and process manual payments.

Respond to internal and external auditing requests.

Direct the processing of child support and garnishment payments.

Maintain and update UltiPro database, corporate employee roster, expense allocation, benefit reconciliations, payroll journal entries, and provide reports as needed.

Liaison with the Finance and Accounting department regarding GL and monthly report requirements.

Responsible for PTO accrual and updates within the UltiPro systems.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will view, have access to, and work with confidential financial data. The employee in this position must adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures.

Education
High School Diploma (or equivalent experience) required

Associate’s degree in Business Administration or BA preferred.

Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) an asset.

Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years progressive payroll experience.

Manager experience required.

Director level experience preferred.

Experience with UltiPro Payroll software preferred.

Experience with mergers, acquisitions and integrations is preferred.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Advanced training and experience in reporting tools.

Advanced training and experience with payroll/HRIS software.

Strong computer and technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

Process with high accuracy in performing duties.

Ability to research, analyze and retrieve date.

Detail oriented and organized.

Working Conditions
Work is performed in climate controlled indoor administrative office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, depending upon office or meeting location.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to remain stationary. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 10 pounds. Vision: Close and distance required with ability to see objects in presence of glare or bright lighting (e.g., computer screen). Speech/Hearing: Frequently interact with management, vendors, coworkers, industry constituents, clients and the public.
