The Director must establish consistent work flow activities to ensure Upgrade construction practices are repeatable and scalable to support high volumes.
This position will also play a critical role in aligning with Supply Chain and managing and directing Labor Vendors in-order to meet the demand to support Network Upgrade activities. Responsible for directing and overseeing all Construction and field engineering activities in support of Node + 0, Node Split and FTTP builds. Manages budgets and Contract Labor engagements for upgrade construction efforts.
Monitors the Design, Coax Construction, Fiber Construction, Restoration, Utility Relations and Project Management. Provides leadership and direction to market upgrade teams. Contributes to the development of the Regional Upgrade strategy. Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy. Typically manages multiple cross functional constructionsupport teams. Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives.
Drives results and promotes inclusion and diversity. Responsible for large scale deployment (construction), activity and test-turn up of networks. Manages multiple large-scale projects throughout the Region simultaneously. Create, monitor and maintain production and financial components of projects. Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills. Must have solid understanding of current HFC and Optical design theories. Provide regular status updates to both National and Regional Sr Leadership. Collaborates with Corporate Program and Project teams to ensure alignment and compliance to Financial and Network Construction Architectural standards.
Oversees all projects within the Region and ensures all projects meet or exceed minimum specification to Cox Construction Policy, FCC Technical Standards, NEC, OSHA, NESC, State, County and/or City, and all other applicable agencies. Develops and ensures the execution of overall strategies that support both residential and commercial initiatives. Directs and evaluates the work of multiple professional teams. Evaluates current practices and procedures and seeks opportunities for improvement. Ensures training is provided for various levels of professionals. Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
This individual must also be an effective manager & communicator, with the ability to identify opportunities, build consensus in a matrix environment, successfully deploy process improvements, build organizational networks, and foster an environment of trust.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience
•Develops and manages projects/programs for the Outside Plant Construction organization as directed
•Partners with Designers, Engineering, Planners, etc. across the Outside Plant organization to enable and support all necessary initiatives as needed
•Responsible for implementing and adhering to best practice/standards identified within each region and ensuring compliance
•Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements for efficiency gains
•Evaluates and consults as needed with all levels of leadership regarding technical operations, strategic planning and new process development and deployment
•Directs quality control programs for construction operations and consistent operational procedures as needed
•Defines and implements process and procedures for new construction delivery activities as well as support BAU activities
•Supports the capital budget process, executes approved budget plan
•Interface with Workforce Management teams and leadership to improve fulfillment and service delivery as needed
•Leads and participates in succession planning
•Performs other duties and operational support as assigned
•Ability to draft, maintain and execute large cross-functional programs
•Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
•Ability to supervise and motivate others
•Delivery role in Technology (ideally across multiple disciplines) with strategy and planning background required
•Prior technology leadership experience required
•Proven track record of developing teams cross-functionally
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

•Seasoned interpersonal and leadership skills required to drive influence
•Ability to drive synergies from diverse teams
•Green Belt certified
Work Related Experience:
•8+ years of CATV / Broadband construction experience
•5+ years of technical management experience
•5+ years of project management experience
•5+ years in a technical role
BS/BA in related discipline required or equivalent experience
