The Director of Operations Training and Development is responsible for the effective and consistent coordination and implementation for the design, development and delivery of learning and performance management initiatives supporting all operations functions, improving productivity and performance. This role will be tasked with the advancement of the training division by strategizing and developing ways to enhance learning events, create, package and deliver content, manage the team of field trainers. Based in Irving, Texas this position reports directly to the Vice President of Operations Shared Services and Quality, directly supporting the organizations senior and business line functional leadership team needs.


Essential Functions:

  • Develop and set educational process and standard for operations, including the establishment of course goals, learning objectives and evaluation of training
  • Identify effective training strategies and determine suitable training methods such as live training, webinars, online training, etc.
  • Plans, organizes and leads training programs, ensuring proper execution at all levels
  • Develop and design course curriculum
  • Ensures planning, application and tracking of all learning programs against all targets and goals
  • Ensure alignment of all training and development solutions to the needs of the business and company goals and objectives
  • Identify and implement best practices in learning and development through benchmarking, networking and industry knowledge
  • Oversee onboarding and training of all new Branch Managers through the EMSI University Program at the Dallas Model Office
  • Create pathways for the growth and development for all operational levels, establishing proper criteria for advancement, etc.
  • Create and oversee a train the trainer program
  • Track key metrics to determine the effectiveness of all current and future training initiatives
  • Determine training team KPI’s
  • Lead the continued improvement and development of training curriculum based on feedback from the field and operations leadership
  • Responsible for all Training and Development communication efforts
  • Partners with Vice President of Compliance in the creation and management of all corporate compliance training
  • Provides oversight for the Credentialing Team
  • Directly accountable for the timeliness and accuracy of all onboarding steps, to include but not limited to: background checks, drug screen initiation/completion and results, auto insurance validation
  • Supports both Corporate and Contractor locations through the background and credentialing process
  • Provides oversight of all certification/recertification
  • Regulates and enforces field service performance vs. certifications and skillsets
  • Ongoing monitoring and appeals processes to ensure continuing compliance with regulatory standards for a nationwide network of phlebotomist and DS/BAT techs
  • Manages and leads a team of 8 to 10 team members consisting of field training and credentialing Specialist
  • Exemplifies the culture of EMSI

Work Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in training and development leadership role

  • Healthcare and/or highly regulated industry experience

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive related experience

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
