Sourcing and Contracting
To supervise the Manager of Sourcing and Contracting and to assist in analysis and negotiation of major purchases of materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by SCH in both operations as well as capital investment. Responsible for identifying process improvement and cost savings opportunities related to product, service and process standardization and utilization, with particular emphasis on diagnostic utilization (lab, radiology, pharmacy). The Director will develop benefit and savings tracking tools for all Sourcing & Value Analysis activities.
At the direction of the COO, the Director of Operations will provide financial analysissupport for new and existing business ventures and other. The Director of Operations will review potential opportunities presented by senior level management or physician leaders, and guide the initiatives through the SCH financial and business development approval process. This will include insuring and acceptable return on investment.
The Director of Operations, working under the authority of the COO, will prioritize personnel and resources in order to insure that those programs and services that are critical to the success of the organization are implemented. It is expected that each Vice President will continue to manage and operate his/her respective divisions, but will work with the Director of Operations in regards to implementing the highest priority initiatives and objectives.
Cost reduction Strategies
The Director of Operations, together with the COO, will be directly accountable to the CEO for maintaining SCH competitive cost position, including the development of cost reduction targets and strategies for implementation. This will include leading efforts in two major categories.
These efforts will include ongoing evaluation of opportunities to reduce costs and continuous education and training of management staff. The success of this role will be measured by achievement of the strategic imperatives and annual operating plan.
