Reporting to the Vice President – Operations, the Director – Operations will be a critical member of the team supporting the Chief Operating Officer (COO), providing key support in driving process improvements, automation and standardization throughout the organization in this newly created role.  This role will also help to monitor and analyze operational performance against established goals and objectives to provide better visibility to senior management, with a heavy focus on capital expenditures. 

The successful candidate will be a well-organized, analytical, results-driven individual with experience reviewing & improving current processes, establishing new processes and implementing change throughout an organization, preferably related to data collection and reporting of capital projects.  Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Evaluate existing enterprise systems & processes and coordinate consistency in reporting and performance management across the organization
  • Develop consistent workflows for capital expenditures across business segments and operator requests
  • Lead the efforts in tracking, monitoring and analyzing capital expenditures, including those related to development and redevelopment projects, in order to allow for more informed decision making
  • Provide consistent and proactive reporting for all capital projects regarding status, risk, economics and work withFP&A and Accounting to understand the dilutive / accretive impact
  • Collaborate with Development, Capital Asset Management, business segments and IT / Enterprise Systems to identify opportunities to improve productivity through process improvement, automation, and implementation of portfolio management tools
  • Work with business segments and Capital Asset Management on the development and implementation of the detailed Annual Operating Plan
  • Support the build out and enterprise use of a data repository for asset-level, capital and operational reporting
  • Provide COO support for the preparation related to Board of Director meetings and quarterly earnings calls


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Economics or related field.  MBA preferred, but not required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in finance / business operations, finance / planning, or other relevant analytical role
  • Solid understanding of key accounting and corporate finance principles, financial statements, and operating metrics
  • Six Sigma or related certification preferred
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving ability in areas of ambiguity and diversity
  • Experience in organizational transformation, collaborating with multiple departments and interacting with senior management
  • Strong aptitude for adopting and leveraging technology and tools to improve efficiencies and ease of reporting and managing operational performance
  • Ability to thrive and excel in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal skills which relate well with individuals at all business levels
