The primary purpose of this position is to oversee and direct all manufacturing and process engineering of EaglePicher's industry operations. The Director of Operations will develop, plan, and implement manufacturing strategies for processes and product, budget and manage department expenses, and achieve production goals and integrate quality assurance, manufacturing planning and scheduling. The ideal candidate will be an on-the-production-floor, hands-on leader capable of driving the organization and having a track record for continuous improvement in the areas of cost reduction, product quality, working capital management, productivity and safety. Expectations include hiring and developing a collaborative, hands-on team strong in the principles of lean and focused upon process improvement utilizing six sigma and lean manufacturing.
•Ensures standards for product quality, equipment, and operator performance are maintained and that cost-effective technology is used to maximize production.
•Ensures fixed assets are preserved. Initiates recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to plant property.
•Develops, monitors, manages, and reports on operating costs.
•Ensures orders are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards found within the Medical industry
•Manages multiple projects and priorities.
•Conducts problem analysis reports and problem resolutions.
•Sustains and administers continuous improvement activities that will drive Lean methodology and Six Sigma quality throughout the organization
•Understands and has operated under an ERP system.
•Builds and develops manufacturing operations organization, processes, and procedures to meet requirements of production quality, cost, delivery, safety and employee relations.
•Attains profitability targets and cash flow objectives through effective budgeting, asset and financial management, and minimization of redundancies.
