Duties & Responsibilities

•The Regional VDC Director is responsible for the coordinated implementation of the VDC Strategy at the regional level.
•The VDC Strategy focuses on the use of state-of-the-art Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) for advanced project collaboration, data management, and risk mitigation to maximize customer value and minimize project cost and schedule.
•As part of the Global Core VDC Team, the Regional VDC Director develops standard operating procedures and systems and manages / supervises regional VDC and CAD Coordinators and VDC Specialists.
•The Regional VDC Director develops standard VDC operating procedures and systems and manages / supervises regional VDC and CAD Coordinators and VDC Specialists.
•Reports to Regional Operations Management
•Teaches, mentors and promotes an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture to all staff. Leads this effort by example.
•Accountable for managing the overall VDC execution of M+W US. Inc and TFS projects
•Provide overall strategic vision and leadership to the Americas Region while owning processes and procedures utilized by project teams
•Develop strategic plan and annual budgets according to M+W AMER requirements
•Interfaces with clients to facilitate the use of M+W processes and procedures in support of client deliverables criteria
•Maintain a thorough understanding of M+W U.S., Inc. /Owner contracts and client Master Service Agreements. Facilitate communication of the contract requirements to project teams.
•Responsible for Project BIM Execution Plans (BIM PEPs).
•Responsible for ensuring applicable M+W U.S., Inc., TFS and Corporate procedures and tools are followed
•Responsible for VDC Risk Matrix input and Risk Mitigation plans relating to VDC and BIM PEPs
•Ensure Project Start-up check-lists are completed prior to project kick-off.
•Develop and continually improve integrated BIM / VDC best practices, procedures, workflows and technology innovations
•Manage and mentor BIM / VDC team members in the development and implementation of BIM / VDC across the region
•Develop and oversee the regional BIM / VDC training program, including webinars, presenting technology deployments and whitepapers.
•Lead the collection and dispositioning of BIM / VDC Lessons Learned and share outcomes across the region and with Global Core VDC Team
•Provide representation in global forums and workshops to collect and disseminate best practices / lessons learned across the region


•Point of contact to Regional and Corporate IT on requirements and schedules for the budgeting, procurement, and roll-out of new and updated of BIM / VDC associated software
•Evaluate leading edge technology developments/software, researching and recommending innovative ways to utilize BIM / VDC data to add value to customers and/or increase internal efficiencies
•Stay informed of regional client and market sector expectations and participate in related industry organizations and conferences
•Develop and maintain strategic relationship with Regional VDC / BIM platform vendors
•Support Regional Business Development / Marketing functions in communicating BIM / VDC strategy, capabilities, and experience
•Manage preparation of project BIM / VDC budgets
•Support Project BIM / VDC Coordinators and Project Management in preparations and delivery of project presentations, proposal materials, project interviews, project scope, Owner Agreements, and project Execution Plans
•Lead project audits for compliance with BIM / VDC Execution Plan / processes
•Provide performance evaluation of BIM / VDC team members
