Iconic Southern California concept seeks a Director of Training. The Director of Training will be responsible for continuing the creation and development of all strategic training initiatives including training sessions, curriculum development across multiple channels, attend and provide feedback through cross functional meetings and members as well as supporting the Operations Director to facilitate the execution of new restaurant openings and re-openings.

Restaurant Support/ Field-Based

  • Implements training and development coursework, programs, and systems
  • Develops and facilitates training classes, seminars, and working sessions
  • Ensures proper compliance and completion of the MIT Training Program
  • Communicates with MIT's through one-on-one follow-ups during Certified Training Restaurant visits
  • Conducts and documents Training Restaurant visits to evaluate operational effectiveness and training requirements
  • Ensures proper execution of all New Restaurant Opening/Restaurant Reopening processes, systems, and standards
  • Develops strategic curriculum to aid in the advanced education of our General Managers, and team members (Multi-Unit management, Situational leadership, etc.)
  • Oversee the company Training Curriculum, training materials and roll out guides for team member development, and new projects being implemented into the system

Office Support/ Office-Based

  • Partner with Vice President of Human Resources and the Vice President of Operations to identify and create training initiatives to support Field Operations
  • Attends product cutting events with the Marketing/Product Development teams to provide feedback and insight on execution at the Restaurant-level
  • Collaborate with the Cross-Functional Committee to produce training procedures for implementing new products, LTOs, and operational initiatives.


· 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or Training, with a specialization in Training and/or Learning and Development in either the full-service, casual or fast-casual dining restaurant industry in a field capacity

· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Business Management or similar field required; a Masters of Business Administration or similar field is desirable

· Demonstrated ability to build a team and drive results through training and other operational strategies that provide long-term growth and profitability

· Ability to utilize tactical and strategic judgement to achieve all key business measures

· Strong financial acumen; prior P&L responsibilities a plus

· Ability to articulate ideas and business results to the Executive Leadership Team

· Previous multi-unit training experiencerequired

· Proven track record of management activity must include the training, directing and evaluating of direct reports

· Minimum of one year of New Restaurant Opening experiencerequired

· Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and able to adapt to new systems quickly

· Knowledge of principles and methods for change management, curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and adult learners, and measurement of training results


$115K - $150K
