Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide broad, college-wide leadership in programming, scheduling, marketing, staffing, supporting and assessing the college's efforts to involve students and community members in a broad range of arts and cultural activities. Responsibilities include oversight of multi-campus programming, staff, and art facilities, including theatres, concert halls, and art galleries
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in Arts Administration, or MFA in a discipline of the visual or performing arts, and five (5+) years of experience managing arts programming and productions required. Two (2) years of experience overseeing facilities and developing and managing annual budgets required. Knowledge of standard arts practices, including technical requirements, box office, grant management, rehearsal standards, scheduling, and community outreach preferred. Experience in higher education preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide direct supervision and evaluation to assigned staff, including onboarding and advising.
  2. Develop and manage operating budget for assigned unit.
  3. Oversee operations of multiple Performing Arts facilities.
  4. Establish goals and objectives for operations consistent with CCBC's mission.
  5. Work with Performing Arts and Humanities Department chair during academic productions, concerts, and performances, as needed.
  6. There will be other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Essential Duties
  1. Develop and oversee annual college-wide arts schedule.
  2. Coordinate marketing and promotion for Arts events, including community outreach.
  3. Develop and manage budgets: Performing Arts SOAC and SGA Performing Arts funds.
  4. Set policies and supervise box office operations, donation processing, and customer relations.
  5. Conceive and implement practices that promote the health of arts students and participants, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and promoting physical and mental well-being.
  6. Ensure that production and co-curricular practices meet the standards set by the external accreditation bodies forMusic, Theatre, and Dance.
  7. Approve and oversee rental of performing arts facilities and equipment.
  8. Write and manage grants, including financial and programmatic reporting.
  9. Initiate and manage corporate sponsorships, including in-kind and media.
  10. Administer ongoing college residencies with arts groups and short-term residencies with artists such as Cockpit in Court, Dundalk Community Theater, and Children's Playhouse of Maryland.

Long-Term Disability
Plan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days of absence. Employee pays 100% of premium.

    The 403(b) supplemental retirement plan is available to all CCBC employees (Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees).
  • Roth 403(b) is a savings feature that is available when you open a 403(b) account. The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
