We’re looking for a director to establish and meet annual recruitment goals. As recruitment director, you will drive the recruitment team’s ability to support school and network leaders to hire smart, passionate and committed new teammates. You will lead the recruitment department to establish new, sustainable practices so that KIPP New Jersey will be recognized as the #1 place where talented teachers and support staff come to work.

A bit more about you…you are data driven, have a track record of success as a team leader, and are driven to find the best teachers and leaders for our students. You take the long-term view to find real solutions to big problems. You also have experience working with schools and strong marketing sensibility.

Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Develop short and long-term strategies to ensure sustainable best practices while accounting for rapid growth within the network
  • Establish measureable, time-bound goals for each recruitment season to promote continued improvement from year to year
  • Establish progress tracking systems and accountability measures to ensure that the recruitment team is continually meeting its goals
  • Ensure that team goals are met and existing projects are completed
  • Manage the implementation and launch of new projects
  • Build and manage relationships with key partner organizations to build pipelines for future needs
  • Establish partnerships with the KIPP Foundation and other KIPP regions to create and implement a national candidate sharing strategy
  • Build on existing partnerships with internal departments (ie: human assets and finance) to codify clear, strategic internal recruitment processes and to ensure positive candidateexperiences
  • Design team-wide performance management standards and professional development opportunities for individual team members
  • Manage individual team members by setting performance management goals and tracking progress towards those goals
  • Recruit talented staff to ensure that schools are fully hired by the start of each school year
  • Manage the recruitment budget

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in an educational setting and/or familiarity with or a deep understanding of school-based work

  • Commitment to do whatever it takes to find the best talent for our schools and support roles
  • Ability to think strategically and to use data to set goals and solve problems

  • Proven skills in leadership as it relates to the professional development of a staff and culture building among a team
  • Experience in managing others and/or driving results through others
  • Willingness to advocate for change at the network level as needed
  • Ability to see a broad scope and to prioritize long term solutions over one-off problem solving
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
