We are looking for Director of Surgical Services for our client in Houston, TX

Job Title: Director of Surgical Services

Job Location: Houston, TX

Job Type: Direct Hire

Job Description:

  • Start : ?ASAP
  • Terms: Permanent
  • ?Shift: Full-time Days/No Weekends

Position Summary: 

  • 302 Bed Hospital
  • 9 OR?s Currently
  • In process of getting Level 4 trauma designation & then want to immediately go to Level 2 (next 18 months)
  • In process of $16 million expansion project that will net gain them 2 OR?s
  • Have a Main OR manager, educator, day surgery & pre-op manager, & PAT manager
  • Good mix on newer staff and more tenured
  • Team connects well with each other, but want to continue to work on collaboration and employee engagement
  • Service Lines Available: Neuro, ortho (not as strong as they would like), robotics, bariatrics, strong urology

Top things looking for:

  • On the VP ?want them to be strategic and help them grow the business.
  • Want them to look at process improvements & things they can do differently to build the business.
  • On the Director - very visible & hands-on.
  • Last director was not as visible as they would have liked.
  • Someone that understand daily operations of OR and is not afraid to jump-in if have to for credibility.

  • COO ? 1.5 year (hiring manager)
  • CEO- started Jan 2017
  • CNO - grew up there. Started as a floor nurse. Been there 25 years
