Direct the organization’s supply chain operations and strategy including purchasing, raw material inventory, component discovery, vendor selection and logistics to maximize process efficiency and productivity. Use data and systems to forecast material needs of business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plan and implement overall supply chain strategy of Company.
Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Product Engineering and Product Managers in Company’s strategy, S&OP process and new product development.
Determine and measure key supply chain KPIs.
Identify process bottlenecks and improvements in a timely manner.
Lead the global sourcing effort.
Negotiate contracts, which include but are not limited to, finding and approving new vendors and visiting vendors to improve quality and service.
Oversee the Company’s relationships with freight forwarders and transportation companies to ensure best routes and rates.
Work with Sales department to determine most cost-effective distribution solution for finished goods transportation to customers.
Manage inventory as well as transportation and other logistics processes
Responsible for departmental budgets and provide costing guidance for developing Company budget
Ensure purchase orders are placed accurately and on a timely basis with the proper delivery schedules to support the inventory planning process and product availability
Verify accurate receiving entries, assist as needed in physical counts of inventory and assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies
Oversee the review and resolution of inventory problems throughout the year.
Oversee the determination and maintenance of order points for raw materials. Expedite raw material orders when necessary.
Oversee and develop the purchasing and logistics staff at all Divisions.
Ensure material costs are current in the respective standard cost systems. Advise as to potential changes in the costs of material. Participate in the annual standard cost setting process and as required if different than fiscal year end.
Research different ways and products to help improve and/or maintain quality, lower costs, and/or improve delivery.
Monitor the industries that we buy from to keep up on any changes, including but not limited to price.
Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met within responsible functions
Domestic and international travel is required as necessary.
Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Business Management, Supply Chain or Procurement related disciplines and 5+ years of experience in a supply chain role. Experience in international procurement, steel industry and related leading market indicators preferred.
Training, Certifications, Licenses
Safety glasses, steel toe boots and ear plugs in production areas.
