Director of Supply Chain

SUMMARY: The primary duty of the Supply Chain Manager is to provide strategic, developmental and tactical direction for materials planning and logistics activities. Scope of influence includes: Forecasting, Supply Planning, Order Replenishment, Inventory Management, Customer Collaboration, Transportation, Customs Compliance and other activities required to ensure accurate and timely availability of materials. This leadership role will directly influence materials management and global logistics within the corporation through direct interactions with multiple domestic facilities, the company's Europe and Asia operations, suppliers and Customers.


  • Achieve stellar customer delivery levels while leading the implementation of world class inventory management practices to drive increased inventory turns
  • Organize teams, systems and processes to optimize raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
  • Manage and coordinate priorities for subordinates in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics; and other areas as designated
  • Lead and manage all corporate logistics activities including freight cost savings projects
  • Build departmental skills in database and analytics to help the organization better understand, predict, and enhance performance
  • Monitor and report Key Performance Indicators and lead corrective actions as required
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to reduce total supply chain costs and improve supplier performance
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives throughout the Supply Chain and assist in driving continuous improvement tools throughout the corporation. Support Lean projects to improve operational performance
  • Facilitate communications through the supply chain and assure that suppliers, production facilities, distribution teams and executive management understand changes associated with product and programs, minimize/eliminate obsolescence
  • Promote new plans and actions in the area of inventory acquisition that lead to increased cash flow and shorter manufacturing and transportation lead-times
  • Responsible for inventory management and accuracy
  • Responsible for planning and coordination of Physical Inventory and respective results
  • Develop collaborative relationships with, Suppliers, Sales Teams, in an effort to improve service levels while optimizing costs
  • Lead communications of component and schedule requirements
  • Manage monthly S&OP process by developing, organizing, and presenting a balanced view of customer demand and available supply, with action plans to address imbalances
  • Manage and implement budget planning and inventory strategies that are designed to drive high level customer service
  • Manage the routing of all Company freight (small packages, LTL, Truckload, Air) both inbound and outbound, domestic and international
  • Establish and ensure compliance with all US customs policies and regulations. Examine industry trends and global trade activities; keep informed of legal and regulatory requirements and changes
  • Analysis and optimization of most efficient North American warehouse location strategy; including implementation of such

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or related field; M.B.A. or Master's degree focused on Supply Chain/Operations preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain / materials management / logistics experience within a multinational company;
  • Certifications in Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
