Responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Social Work / Department in accordance with applicable Federal, State, and local guidelines and regulations, and company policies and procedures. Applies professionally accepted, research based practices. Works cooperatively as part of the management team to develop resident-centered approaches to all quality of care and quality of life activities. Patient advocacy responsibilities as needed to achieve or maintain a dignified existence for all patients. Provides patient assessment, counseling, and discharge planning. Acts as a liaison between the patient/family/hospital and community agencies/resources. Demonstrates expertise in social work, working as a member of an inter-disciplinary team comprised of physicians, nurses, counselors, and psychologist. Applies specialized knowledge of human development and behavior and social, economic, and cultural systems in directly assisting patients and families to improve or restore their capacity for social functioning. This includes counseling and use of psychosocial interventions and social psychotherapy. Occasionally plans educational offerings and provides in-services as requested. Oversees the quality and clinical practice of the social work department.
Master?s Degree in Social Work and LICSW required.
Two (2) years of social work experience in a healthcare environment required.
Experience working with individuals with major and chronic mental health difficulties required.
Additional Qualifications/Skills :
Management/administrative experience preferred.
Ability to project a professional image.
Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
