Director of Silicon Photonics Transceiver Engineering

We are looking for a bright, motivated and enthusiastic Director of Silicon Photonics Transceiver Engineering to join the Silicon Photonics team. The perfect candidate has a proven track record in managing multi-disciplined Engineering teams towards successful delivery of photonic transceivers. The candidate must be able to communicate well with cross-functional team members in rapid development cycles, and be able to efficiently collaborate with team members to achieve product development and delivery goals.



  • Ownership of transceiver and sub-components design, development and validation lifecycle from specifications to qualification
  • Manage a cross-functional team of electrical, packaging, thermo-mechanical, photonics, software and test engineers
  • Manage partners and vendors during product development phase
  • Follow NPI process and directly work with other Silicon Photonics teams to define product requirements and scaling to HVM production including Manufacturing Test
  • Strong focus in system integration planning, execution and verification
  • Formulate, organize and drive cross-functional projects to successful completion


Skills & Preferred Experience

  • BS Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Successfully demonstrated taking designs from concept to characterization and to production
  • Previous experience with photonics components, PMD ICs, MCMs, and transceiver modules at 25 Gb/s and higher
  • Thorough understanding of industry standards for high-speed optical transceiver applications
  • Strong background and discipline in Engineering processes, design and testing methodologies
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions; design and test review meetings; progress and status meetings)
  • Great at prioritization and applying sound, data-based judgement to weigh trade-offs
