Job Description

Gore Medical Products has provided creative therapeutic solutions to complex medical problems for 40 years, saving and improving the quality of lives worldwide. As a leading manufacturer of vascular grafts, endovascular and interventional devices, surgical meshes for hernia repair, and sutures, we are looking for a Director of Shop Services to join our team in Flagstaff or Phoenix, Arizona.

In this role, you will provide direct and indirect leadership to MPD Shop Services, which encompass Machining, Maintenance, Machine Assembly, Tooling, Calibration and M&C Coordinator teams supporting Manufacturing and NPD. This associate will regularly interact with fellow leaders throughout the division to implement common solutions and support divisional and enterprise projects in alignment with our strategy, while also driving initiatives within the business to ensure stable supply and maximize profit. This leader will contribute as a member of the Divisional Manufacturing Leadership team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing broad functional leadership for the Medical Products division Shop Services teams
  • Driving functional excellence in machining, assembly, maintenance and calibration operations across the division in alignment with the strategic objectives
  • Coordinating contribution and compensation (C&C) process for Shop Services teams
  • Driving the development process for Shop Services teams ensuring that we have the right skill sets across the organization
  • Working with other members of the MPD Supply Chain and Technical teams to assure strong communication and strategies that meet current and future business needs
  • Ensuring a lean continuous improvement environment
  • Providing technical guidance and training to team members to contribute to their ongoing development within Gore
  • Balancing the resource needs of the business with the developmental needs of the Shop Services associates
  • Maintaining a team metrics, priorities and execution status of operational plans
  • Developing and meeting cost goals and investment forecasts
  • Being accountable for compliance to all current and evolving quality system and regulatory requirements
  • Championing the practice of the Gore culture and hold others accountable for achieving results in a manner consistent with Gore values
  • Building diverse teams and creating a respectful, trusting and inclusive environment, while at the same time, supporting the development and contribution of all Associates. Qualifications

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Eight years experience leading skilled trades, technical, supply chain or industrial operations teams
  • Experience:
    • Leading, mentoring and sponsoring diverse teams
    • Handling multiple projects and priorities with competing resource needs
    • Leading in a regulated industry
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • The ability to partner broadly with flexibility, providing a high level of motivation and excellent mentorship skills

Desired Job Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • With machine shop operations and maintenance and calibration
    • In the medical device industry
