Summary:

As a member of Supermicro worldwide Finance and Accounting team, the Director of Revenue Accounting will be responsible for Supermicro worldwide revenue group. This leader will be accountable for driving integration alignment between all revenue-related areas within the organization, including enhancing and monitoring operational and accounting based controls, policies and processes; develop, analyze and report business intelligence analytics, interpret and assess revenue accounting treatment for new business models and large complex arrangements; manage to explain matters to multiple element arrangement sales transactions; and assist in managing the system implementation and adoption of ACS606.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Assist in managing technical accounting expert for revenue accounting
  • Serve as an internal technical accounting expert for revenue accounting
  • Exercise judgment within defined policies and authoritative literature to determine appropriate action related to revenue-related transactions and write related technical memos
  • Manage the revenue team in the review of contracts and sales orders to assess proper revenue recognition treatment
  • Manage the monthly close process related to revenue including the timely completion of close items and analytical review
  • Implement timely reporting and process improvements based upon industry trends, authoritative literature and business objectives
  • Monitor relevant US GAAP and SEC developments to ensure revenue recognition policies and procedures are in compliance
  • Work closely with IT development team to improve system processes and reporting outputs
  • Help to develop trainings on revenue recognition rules, policies and practices to present to Sales and other departments within the organization
  • Participate in quarterly revenue forecast procedures
  • Mange all revenue recognition matters with the external audit firm and internal audit for quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Maintain controls and assist in the automation of those controls

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four year university
  • Minimum of 15years’ experience in Accounting / Finance, including experience with software and service arrangements, with a background in Big 4 public accounting firm
  • Active CPA designation
  • Extensive experience in the application of ASC605, ASC985 and ASC606 and working knowledge of all other current authoritative literature related to revenue recognition is required
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented self-starter  with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in interacting with all levels of management
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience with SAP and RevPro is a plus
