Under the direction of the Administrative Director for Research, the Director of Research Compliance (DRC) is responsible for managing an effective compliance program that is coupled with efforts to facilitate the pursuit of MMC’s research programs. In these research programs, compliance with pertinent regulations and policies is essential to engendering the public trust. The Office of Research Compliance has three main responsibilities: research compliance oversight; research compliance education and to function as a compliance information clearinghouse. The DRC will implement and manage a research compliance, oversight, and education program that provides support and education in regulatory requirements for faculty members, staff, and students regarding scientific research.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Master’s degree in relevant discipline preferred, Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of related experience.
Thorough knowledge of current applicable laws and regulations, including federal, state, and non federal regulations surrounding research and research grants and contracts.
Experience working independently and within a team environment at various levels of an organization.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), including public speaking to facilitate training sessions, lead discussion groups, and deliver presentations.
Strong management skills with experience in staff oversight and professional development.
