Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the North American RIM Program, including a RIM policy and related schedules and standards, compliance plans, and governance
  • Develop and implement a global records management strategy designed to comply with the company's policies and meet legal and regulatory obligations
  • Ensure senior leaders are appropriately informed of RIM initiatives and the impact of compliance and change to their respective organizations
  • Enhance the RIM team by creating a structure to include business liaisons and records coordinators; support local delivery and adoption of working practices, training and communications
  • Develop a communications plan to promote the RIM strategy as it relates to records retention and destruction policies for both paper and electronic records
  • Manage budget for the RIM department
  • Implement appropriate records management technology that promotes process efficiency for the end user and promotes operational excellence
  • Partner effectively with McKesson’s Electronic Discovery Team and Legal Hold Coordinator
  • Act as Business Sponsor for initiatives that support RIM technology upgrades, enhancements and/or implementation of new software, in partnership with the General Counsel Organization Technology Team
  • Manage relationship with IT and third-party vendors providing RIM support
  • Work closely and collaborate with senior leadership across all functions of the company
  • Partner with RIM stakeholders in Europe, and with other stakeholders in the information governance universe including IT, Compliance and Privacy, and HR


Minimum Requirements
5+ years’ experience in RIM including 2+ years of managerial experience

Critical Skills

  • Experience in information governance and the information lifecycle
  • Proficiency in retention management technology
  • People management experience
  • Strong business acumen
  • Diplomacy, including the ability to maintain a calm and professional demeanor and to build strong relationships and in-work networks
  • Ability to recognize new and existing opportunities to further the development of the company’s RIM program
  • Polished written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present to senior management
  • Experience implementing change management strategies

Bachelor degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred
