Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Quality to join our Pharmachem business at our Kearny, New Jersey location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Quality function. This position will report to VP, Global Quality, Regulatory Affairs & Trade Compliance
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Implement Ashland’s quality management system (QMS) at Pharmachem facilities.
Implements the product safety system for Pharmachem manufactured products
Develops and implements appropriate inspection and testing programs from raw materials to work in progress to finished products
Manages direct reports who provide quality oversight to the Pharmachem facilities
Reports metrics on quality trends and compliance performance.
Provides core training to ensure compliance to Quality policies, standards and processes
Works collaboratively with other functions such as Purchasing, Supply Chain and R&D to ensure implementation of quality policies, standards and processes
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
BS degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or related technical field or equivalent work experience in the desired industry
A minimum of 10 years of experience within the Quality/technical/regulatory function in a nutraceutical, food additive or specialty chemicals manufacturing facility
Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience leading, influencing, building and developing a diverse and cross-functional team across various levels and skill sets
Experience with internal and/or external auditing
Experience leading the Quality organization for multiple manufacturing facilities
Proven success creating and implementing a QMS system
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
Master degree or above
Six Sigma certification
Experience working in the Nutraceutical space
Certified Quality Engineer
Certified Quality Auditor
Experience working with IPEC, USP, BRC, EFFCI, FSSC 22000 & ISO 9001 certifications
Experience in managing laboratories
