The Director of Clinic Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (DQAQI) is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating quality assurance (QA), quality improvement (QI), and patient safety initiatives for Somatus. Under the quality assurance umbrella, the DQAQI will provide oversight of the monitoring program to support quality improvement efforts, clinic compliance with federal and state healthcare entitlement programs. The DQAQI will facilitate and support efforts to improve clinical care, safety, and operational performance. DQAQI will lead Somatus healthcare compliance efforts as to maintain compliance with Federal and State regulations, and related healthcare entitlement programs as well as compliance with healthcare commercial payer agreements.
Develop and manage the implementation of quality improvement/quality assurance (QA/QI) projects and strategies aligned with policies and procedures in relation to patient care, accreditation standards and the clinic system mission and goals.
Responsible for measuring and evaluating the quality of patient care and clinical operations through the quality assurance (QA) program utilized in the clinic system.
Design and implement data collection and analysis of all required attributes.
Based on gathered evidence, provide improvement recommendations, and monitor them to ensure effective implementation of QI recommendations.
Recommend strategies to improve compliance with QI projects, addressing methods to change knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.
Oversee the QA program and conduct quarterly audits of health care record review results and recommend actions to address any identified improvement opportunities.
The DQAQI will lead a clinic quality assurance/improvement and patient safety committee as well as serve on Clinic Compliance Committee.
Recommend methods to improve provider compliance to QI projects, including provider profiles/scorecards and efforts to increase provider compliance to documentation standards through the Somatus Quality Assurance and Compliance Program.
Track and disseminate QA data to community in accordance to accreditation requirements.
Participate in the development, review and updating of Life University clinics policies and procedures.
Take the necessary steps to ensure confidentiality of all QA/QI data and reports.
Design, deliver, and document QA/QI educational programs.
To lead educational efforts with healthcare entitlement compliance training for providers and staff.
Direct efforts to obtain certification from health care quality credentialing body (Joint Commission, NCQA, URAC). Coordinate QA/QI efforts with all Somatus clinics working clinic directors and office managers.
Coordinate efforts with university departments to ensure efficiency and consistency of services.
Serve on appropriate clinic, college, and University committees as necessary and requested.
Assist to ensure clinic operations are compliant with all licensing, entitlement programs, healthcare payer commercial contracts, and governing agencies.
Maintain expertise with current applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations, and standards relating to HIPAA, federal, and state healthcare entitlement programs, quality assurance, and quality improvement.
Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing compliance monitoring of business associate agreements ensuring compliance with the HIPAA Omnibus Rule.
Work with administration, key departments and committees to ensure the institution has and maintains appropriate privacy/security and compliance practices reflecting current institutional and legal practices and requirements.
Provide expertise and recommendations to Human Resources to help develop multifaceted education and training programs focusing on various elements of the compliance and HIPAA programs to enable employees to know and comply with federal, state, and local laws and rules and regulations.
5+ years of experience with data quality management in a large, diverse data management organization.
Extensive experience in migrating manual data quality processes to an automated, sustainable framework.
Experience working in Healthcare Industry is highly desired.
Experience scoping complex data requirements/issues and driving through to completion.
Strong communications skills; written, verbal and presentation.
Proven track record of driving change and teaching/motivating individuals to develop & implement new ways of thinking and doing business.
Experience with data analysis and data analysis tools/SQL strongly preferred.
Experience with project management methodologies; Agile preferred.
Experience with Agile Central (Rally) or comparable agile management tools preferred.
