Under the supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Operating Officer. The Director of Quality Assurance & Patient Safety oversees quality assurance, regulatory survey readiness, continuous improvement, and patient safety activities within the organization. Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards and reporting requirements. Ensures programs and services are implemented at the highest quality standards and patients receive the highest quality care in accordance with the organizations mission, vision, and values.
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelors of Science Nursing (BSN) required within 3years of hire, Master’s Degreepreferred.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality Assurance is required within 2years of hire.
Training and Experience:
Knowledge, understanding and experience in quality, patient safety, risk, and/or infection control desired.
Minimum of 4years healthcare experiencepreferred, includes clinical rotation.
Experience and knowledge of survey methodology, CMS regulations, Federal and State healthcare regulations, and other regulatory bodies related to healthcare quality management preferred.
Recent clinical, operational or data quality management experiencepreferred.
Demonstration of effective and strong communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong critical thinking abilities, as well as process and outcome analysis.
Excellent interpersonal skills with physicians, administrative, and leadership staff.
Ability to work independently, as well as in a highly effective team.
Computer skills/software proficiency required. (The following systems preferred: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Epic.)
Ability to learn new healthcare measures and abstraction of data, in conjunction with educating others simultaneously.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and the security of confidential work products.
Licensure & Certifications Requirements
Washington State Registered Nursing License is required.
BLS required within 30 days from date of hire.
