The Director of Publishing Technology is responsible for the direction and implementation of programs/features that support the vision and mission of the ACM Digital Library and to ensure these are supportive of the ACM vision and mission.
Identify emerging trends in both publishing and technology.
Ensure best practices and lead efforts to keep ACM and the ACM Digital Library in a strategic position within the community.
Participate and facilitate appropriate publishing and technical efforts within the community as a representative of ACM.
Oversee all activities related to the successful management of the publishing program and the ACM Digital Library for the benefit of the community, its members, or the public.
Organize regular evaluations of the overall state of the Digital Library as well as evaluations of specific aspects of the DL, landscape analysis and community needs.
Support sales and marketing efforts with product knowledge and technical expertise.
Use market feedback to evaluate product functionality and drive present/future product direction.
Collaborate with executive management and volunteer community to align and determine publishing and technology directions, both short and long term.
Partner with the ACM Digital Library Board Chair in the administration and strategic direction of the board and all its efforts.
Manage the day-to-day production publishing staff, DL technology staff and contracted vendors.
Monitor departmental budget allocation and ensure programs are delivered within time and budgetary constraints.
Report directly to the COO and CEO.
Required Skills & Experience
Education: Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, Library Science, or related specialization.
Experience: 10+ years
- Corporate Publishing experience
- Corporate experience leading IT teams in data/site management
