The convenience store retail business is the largest 7-Eleven licensee in the United States and operates approximately 300 convenience stores in central and west Texas and New Mexico.
The Director of Process Controls will identify opportunities to maintain and improve profitability in Delek US Refining Subsidiaries through the improvement of current refinery processes, establish safe operating envelope, and maximizing optimization while maintaining regulatory compliance on an ongoing basis.
List of Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Process Controls will monitor the current refinery DCS control processes to ensure they are performing as designed or desired. He or she will work with the refineries technical service departments to effectively monitor the processes in each refinery and provide expert support in the resolution of deficiencies.
The Director of Process Controls will champion the development and maintainability of an alarm management philosophy as well as establish an alarm rationalization process of the refineries DCS Systems.
The Director of Process Controls will work closely with the Corporate and Refining Economics and Planning groups to ensure that the refineries are being optimized for current economic conditions and establish all controls recommendations to achieve this.
The Director of Process Controls will evaluate and establish a philosophy where Advance Process Controls (APC) will be incorporated to achieve maximum product quality to increased profitability.
The Director of Process Controls will assist in Process Studies for yield & energy improvements, participate process unit feasibility studies for increased profitability or regulatory compliance, and investigate opportunities for new process units.
The Director of Process Controls will interface with industry contacts and consulting firms to stay abreast of future technology advances and establish a DCS Strategy for growth to support the Delek Refining Subsidiaries.
The Director of Process Controls will interface with the refinery process departments to ensure the DCS in use to supports refinery processes.
The Director of Process Controls relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals: A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Performs other duties as necessary and as requested by management.
The Director of Process Controls ensures effective and timely communications between the sites to facilitate on going improvement.
Develops and submits weekly progress reports as required.
Education Required: BS Chemical Engineering
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Attributes:
B.S. Chemical Engineering,
Engineering Experience (15+ years)
Refinery Experience (15+ years)
Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to positively represent Delek to outside firms and companies
Communication: Writes clearly and precisely; speaks tactfully and convincingly; listens well; shares work related information freely; must be computer literate and capable in Microsoft applications.
